February 2009. I also set up and continue to maintain the dogwatch website. |
Chief Inspector Richard Liversidge
I've been a police officer for 17 years and have been stationed at Stevenage for the last 2 years,
having been previously posted to a number of roles across the county. I have been an Inspector for 4
years. |
|
I moved from Yorkshire to Hertfordshire to join the Police in 1987 at the tender age of 18 and
a half, starting life as an intervention Constable in Stevenage and also serving as the
Neighbourhood officer for St Nicholas.
I was then posted to Stevenage Town Centre as part of the Town Centre Team in 1992, tackling
acquisitive crime before becoming the Youth Liaison Officer at Stevenage dealing with young
offenders.
In 1996 I returned to front line duties as a Tutor Constable based in North Hertfordshire
before moving to St Albans in 2000 as an Intervention officer.
I took my Sergeants exam in 2003 and gained promotion to that rank being based at Hatfield on
Intervention Policing and I was then successful in taking my Inspectors exam in 2007 gaining
promotion to my current rank and being posted back to Stevenage both as a Neighbourhood
Inspector and in my current role as Intervention Inspector.
I have also spent time as a member of the Hertfordshire Constabulary search team, being
involved in the St Albans bombing in 1991, and as a member of the PSU riot team since 1992.
I love the job as much today as I did in 1987 and I am very fortunate to serve the people of
Hertfordshire.
